On July 4, Governor George E. Pataki will preside as a cornerstone is laid
for Freedom Tower - more than 20 tons of garnet-flecked granite from the
Adirondacks in upstate New York. The cornerstone will be the first piece of
the foundation of the building. The Freedom Tower will soar 1,776 feet above
ground.
