EarthCam to Webcast 2008 Panasonic KWN New Vision Awards Ceremony FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, May 2, 2008 -- EarthCam, the leader in webcam technology known for covering premier events, will webcast the 2008 Panasonic Kid Witness News "New Vision" Awards Ceremony beginning at 5:30 pm EDT on Monday, May 5th. The 2008 ceremony, taking place at the Panasonic headquarters in Secaucus, NJ, marks the 9th consecutive year that EarthCam and Panasonic have joined forces to produce this event live on the Internet. Each year, the "best of the best" videos are honored at this annual awards ceremony. Students from Columbia University’s School of the Arts Film Division review videos submitted for the New Vision Awards and select the top three finalists in each category. The videos are then submitted for a final round of judging by an independent panel of professionals. Judges include educators, broadcasters, scientists, journalists, entertainers and industry leaders who volunteer their time to Kid Witness News to select the videos for top honors in several different categories. Winners from across the U.S. are then flown to the New York area to participate in a weekend of activities to celebrate their accomplishments and to receive their honors at the prestigious New Vision Awards Ceremony. Kid Witness News is a hands-on video education program for elementary and middle school students supported by Panasonic. Award winning schools include Rachel B.
