EarthCam, in cooperation with the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, will present one of a kind live on board views of the voyage upriver from the top of the mast and other shipboard locations. After its December 5, 2006 tug tow from the mud along its permanent pier, the ship was repainted in Bayonne, NJ and refurbished in Staten Island, NY. The preservation of the mighty aircraft carrier and creation of a new park-like Pier 86 is expected to draw million’s of international visitors. The museum includes 30 restored aircraft, the former USS Growler submarine and the Concorde. The new design also creates a unique journey through spectacular interactive exhibits and virtual multi-sensory technology.

New to the Intrepid will be an EarthCam exhibit featuring a time-lapse movie of the restoration, photos taken during the process and an exciting live feed from the top of the Intrepid mast. The feed from the ship has been visited internationally on the EarthCam and Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum websites by millions.
