EarthCam's Image of the Statue of Liberty Wins Construction Industry Photo Contest New 16 MegapixelCam Captures the Winning Shot FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, January 12, 2012 -- With millions of photos taken of the Statue of Liberty, how could one single image stand out and be special enough to win a photo contest? EarthCam, the exclusive provider of webcam camera technology for the Statue of Liberty, is proud to annouce that they did just that. An image captured by its CrownCam is a winner of the ENR Annual Photo Contest and features an unmatched view of Lady Liberty from the famous golden torch. The image was captured by EarthCam's new 16 megapixel construction camera. This cutting-edge system offers live streaming video and is programmed to automatically capture large 4,928 x 3,264 pixel images continuously 24/7. A custom version of this remarkable camera system was installed on the torch balcony of the Statue of Liberty as a gift for the 125th anniversary celebrations. This high definition camera invites viewers to experience a unique look from a part of the Statue that has been closed off to the public since 1916. The Statue is currently closed to the public while its pedestal undergoes a year-long renovation.
