EarthCam Celebrates 28 Years of Innovation in Live Streaming Video

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, August 30, 2024 -- EarthCam, the global leader in live camera technology, content, and services, is celebrating 28 years of visual information this week. In the past year, the company introduced new AI capabilities for its construction software suite, and expanded its international media presence significantly.

EarthCam has engaged hundreds of millions of viewers globally, launching live-streaming destinations in North America, Europe, Taiwan, South Korea, Sint Maarten and Puerto Rico. New eco-tourism cameras include an Osprey Cam in Bar Harbor, ME and Falcon Cam in Sacramento, CA.

EarthCam continues to be a vital resource for the media. The new Media Priority Access platform delivers crucial live video content and has quickly become a trusted resource for news organizations. Growing exponentially, the program now serves over a thousand media professionals every day from major global networks like CNN, FOX, NBC, NewsNation and Scripps News.

This year, EarthCam’s leadership in construction documentation was honored with two Photo of the Year Awards by the authoritative industry publication, Engineering News-Record (ENR). Winning photos were captured by the one-of-a-kind Statue of Liberty Crown Cam, and at the Frisco Public Library during reconstruction around a 20 ft Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton. The company documented newsworthy extreme weather events, an eclipse and earthquakes in Taiwan and New Jersey. EarthCam content was featured in the Architectural RecordAxios, New York Post, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, NBC News, and the BBC.

EarthCam has become the go-to solution for Departments of Transportation to provide the public with live visual updates during emergency-infrastructure repairs. Notable projects include emergency repairs on Norwalk I-95, I-95 Philadelphia and Los Angeles I-10. Connecticut Governor, Ned Lamont, recognized EarthCam’s role, saying, “There is significant interest in this ongoing emergency project, and this live video feed will help in our mission of keeping the public informed of the latest conditions on the highway.”

Time-lapse videos completed by EarthCam this past year include the construction of the ‘world’s largest’ digital camera - the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Cerro Pachón, Chile, The Valley Hospital, on a 40-acre campus in Paramus, NJ, and deep space exploration company Intuitive Machines’ new headquarters. This innovative new HQ enabled the first successful American mission to the moon in a half-century. Other time-lapses include the Center for Advanced Surgical Services, National Museum of Women in the Arts, and Manhattan's First Public Beach at Gansevoort Peninsula.

EarthCam introduced breakthrough AI analytics to help reduce the incidence of falls – the leading cause of jobsite fatalities – advising when construction workers are at height with significant accuracy. This vital work was recognized by industry-leading press such as Engineering News-Record, For Construction Pros, Builder and Civil + Structural Engineer. EarthCam has also made advancements in the retail sector, becoming the partner of choice for retailers like T-Mobile, with 7500+ stores nationwide, and Five Guys – who use EarthCam’s visual data top-to-bottom at the company to reduce onsite inspections and boost communication.
