Press Release
EarthCam Premieres New BearCam at Hollywild Animal Park FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, April 11, 2013 -- Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! The original tourism webcam company, EarthCam, just launched a unique interactive camera at the Hollywild Animal Park in Wellford, South Carolina. Known as the company "where the world watches the world", EarthCam representatives spent the week in South Carolina first attending the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Mid-Year meeting in Charleston, South Carolina, and then visiting some of their four-legged clients. It's “lights, camera, action” for Hollywild today but instead of the camera being on a movie set, this time the camera is located right at the animal park, broadcasting live video to the world. Hollywild and EarthCam are inviting people to go behind-the-scenes with the headliners, an amazing group of bears. EarthCam's live streaming webcam delivers close-up views of the newly renovated bear habitat at Hollywild. Visitors will get the unique opportunity to see the different bears that call this space home. Watch as Honey Bear the Grizzly Bear and adult Syrian Brown Bears Giza and Ramses rotate in and out of their shared exhibit. Viewers will also catch a glimpse of the adorable Syrian Brown Bear triplet cubs, Amalia, Malica and Samra, born in January 2012 to Giza and Ramses. Hollywild is one of the few places in the world where this rare species can be seen, and the webcam offers a special chance to see these beautiful creatures. “We are thrilled that Hollywild is entering a new era in accessibility to our extended family and future visitors by inviting them into our bears’ living room where they can see them at play”, said David Meeks, Hollywild's executive director. “It is our hope that by doing this, we can help people understand the magnificence of these animals and the importance of conservation efforts around the world.” Hollywild Animal Park is home to some of the movie industry's famous “Zooperstars”. This non-profit organization is committed to providing an interactive and educational experience for their visitors, while continually improving the life of their animals in a safe and enriching environment. Visit the BearCam at Hollywild Animal Park and watch as the bears explore their exhibit, enjoy the outdoors and touch our hearts at http://www.earthcam.com/usa/southcarolina/wellford/ and http://www.hollywild.com/webcam.html. This trip also gives EarthCam a chance to visit The Greenville Zoo, home to Masai giraffe family Walter, Autumn and newest addition, Kiko. When the giraffe cameras launched in the fall of 2012, they instantly became fan favorites as eager viewers awaited the arrival of a calf. The amount of attention garnered by this camera translated into a major increase in visitors to the zoo clamoring for a look at the newest arrival.
