Habitat For Humanity Eco Village Promoted with EarthCam Construction Camera New Living Model Showcases Sustainable Community Environment FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, April 22, 2013 -- For fifteen years, volunteers at the St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity in River Falls, Wisconsin have been building one or two homes a year. Now, in a heroic undertaking, this organization is building an 18 home sustainable community development and the Eco Village project is being documented and promoted by an EarthCam construction camera. The world is celebrating Earth Day today, the most fitting day to promote this new eco-village, which shares the same mission of environmental sustainability and protection. The neighborhood is designed to promote green community development practices and healthy living. Dr. Kelly Cain, Executive Director at the St. Croix Institute for Sustainable Community Development for University of Wisconsin-River Falls said, “This national demonstration project for a holistic system approach to low-to-moderate income neighborhood design is unprecedented in many ways. It is restorative to nature and to quality of life for generations to come. This is especially true for its LEED Platinum and carbon negative approach to building performance, among all other outcomes.” EarthCam selected their industry standard MegapixelCam to document construction of the five acre project. Habitat for Humanity project managers are able to log in to the secure Control Center 7 software and view easily searchable inspection-grade image archives, analyzing progress by marking up the HD photos and sharing them via email with colleagues. Updating images of the construction progress is also available on the St. Croix Valley Habitat webpage where visitors can save and share their favorite moments via social media. When the project is complete, EarthCam's team of Time-Lapse producers and editors will hand-stitch the images together into a cinematic time-lapse movie. “We are proud to donate our services to showcase the hard work of the Habitat for Humanity volunteers in St. Croix Valley, Wisconsin,” said Joseph Nizza, EarthCam Vice President of Business Development.
