EarthCam Construction Camera Captures Progress for New San Jose Earthquakes Stadium

New York, May 21, 2013 -- Season tickets are selling fast for the San Jose Earthquakes, and a big reason is the new stadium being built for this Major League Soccer (MLS) team. Construction for the much anticipated new facility began on February 26th, and the public can be a part of the building process by watching on the EarthCam construction camera.

This unique project made headlines from day one. On October 21, 2012 the project captured the Guinness World Record title for the biggest groundbreaking ceremony ever. A staggering 6,256 participants, including city officials, residents and Earthquakes fans of all ages, grabbed a shovel and made history.

The new multi-million soccer stadium in Santa Clara, California will boast 18,000 seats, which will quickly be occupied by eager and excited fans. In addition, the new stadium will have 12 luxury suites for the ultimate game-day experience. EarthCam's StreamCam HD webcam system was chosen to document activity for this exciting project. The camera delivers crisp, high-definition uninterrupted views as progress is made daily at the 75-acre site. The system enables project teams to view the jobsite remotely in real-time to stay informed and up-to-date on all activity.

EarthCam's live streaming webcam technology is the perfect way for the MLS team to share views of the new stadium with the community. Local residents and fans will be able to follow the progress and can even share their favorite milestones on Facebook and Twitter. Watch the transformation of the new stadium live at

"We are very excited to launch our new stadium webcam," said Earthquakes president Dave Kaval. "Thanks to the folks at EarthCam, our fans can keep tabs on the construction process from start to finish. We look forward to providing a time-lapse video for fans to enjoy at the conclusion of the project as well."

Following in the footsteps of neighbor and fellow sports organization, the San Francisco 49ers, the San Jose Earthquakes have entrusted construction of their new stadium to Devcon Construction. EarthCam construction cameras are carefully documenting progress of the New Santa Clara Stadium and views from several different angles can be seen at

When the new stadium is complete, EarthCam's time-lapse producers and editors will comb through the thousands of captured images to create a cinematic time-lapse movie. The time-lapse will showcase the dynamic project from foundation to field goal. The project is on track for completion by spring of 2014.
