EarthCam Teams Up with Granite Construction on the Kosciuszko Bridge FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, September 12, 2017 -- Granite Construction and EarthCam announced today that they will be installing multiple 6K time-lapse cameras to document phase two of the Kosciuszko Bridge construction project in Brooklyn. The news was made today at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Conference. The $318 million project is New York City’s first new bridge in 53 years and the largest single project in Governor Cuomo’s NY Works initiative. Granite’s project team will rely on EarthCam’s MegapixelCam Advanced, a powerful professional-grade construction camera that streams HD video and includes a remote controlled wiper to ensure the camera collects high quality imagery in all weather conditions. The cameras will archive each critical stage for a time-lapse movie, which will be used for historic record by the NY Department of Transportation. “We are proud to partner with Granite, a leader in innovative bridge construction, on this epic project for the NYDOT”, said Brian Cury, CEO and Founder of EarthCam. “Producing an informative time-lapse archive from the hundreds of thousands of images these cameras create will provide an educational benefit to future public improvement projects.” EarthCam specializes in webcam technology for infrastructure projects and has documented major bridges coast to coast, from the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and St. Croix River Crossing to the New NY Bridge, Goethals Bridge and Bayonne Bridge. Departments of Transportation nationwide rely on EarthCam’s live streaming and time-lapse cameras to provide insight on multi-year infrastructure improvement projects and accelerated bridge construction initiatives, as well as monitoring traffic operations in real-time.
